Burnt Flakes

Behind the Shot

I came across this striking texture while exploring the remains of an old, abandoned factory. This macro shot focuses on the edge of the massive steel I-beams that once supported the facility. Over decades of neglect, the thick industrial paint has baked and weathered into brittle, scorched shards that are barely clinging to the structure.

The deep orange and amber tones of the cracked paint create a beautiful, jagged contrast against the dark, gritty metal exposed underneath. The way the surface has fractured looks almost like dried earth or cooling lava, creating a piece of accidental abstract art out of heavy industrial decay.
